What a journey.
One of these days the Mac Pro enclosure design will change; exterior.

Yeah. They'll need to move to something that more closely resembles the unibody MacBook stuff.

Time to resurrect the Spork chatroom.

In iChat, click on File->Go to Chat Room and enter "Spork" as the room name.

It's a race against the clock. My Nexus One is on the FedEx truck and should be delivered any moment. Will it arrive before the iPhone announcement?

Thank you to those who joined the chat. I think it's been two years since the last time we had the Spork Chatroom going.

sorry I missed it. work started getting busy.

iChat wouldn't bring up the chatroom. I could get into 'WWDC' but nothing appeared for 'spork' or 'Spork'.

Save us, Lord, from the furries of the Norsemen!
Apple announces Safari 5, but nobody can find it. Perhaps we should mount some sort of expedition online, similar to the way big-game hunts to Africa used to search for their quarry... now what were those expeditions called...

you can d/l it now... but there seems to be a weird graphics glitch on that page (at least for me; I reloaded the page, too).

it's on my software updates I noticed.
No way until Exmarks, 1Password are revved/tested/bugs fixed.

Waiting until I am sure clicktoflash works.

ClicktoFlash DOES work with Safari 5.0. I didn't even have to re-install it.

The reader feature doesn't work in the NYT site. HA! Back to Chrome since I don't see any compelling features on Safari.

Oh re: the new iPhone. Yes, it's prettier. But I very much doubt I will get it. Having to move to a new AT&T data plan is unappealing. Last month I hit 1.9gb which is the max in a long while, but still. The facetime iphone to iphone thing seems completely unappealing (if I have wifi, I probably have my laptop, in which case I could do video chat, which I never do). The screen is probably very nice. Can't wait for the next iPad with it! Gyro? Nah. The camera is intriguing, but I'm still not convinced.

Methinks Steve will be unpleasantly surprised by the popularity of this iPhone. But hey, I could be wrong.

It's prettier, it's newer, it's faster, it's more feature rich and it runs the new multitasking OS. Add to that that it's reasonably priced and I predict it'll sell better than Baha expects.

bahamut – June 08, 2010 04:27AM Reply Quote
Don't the other phones also run multitasking?

Oh my iPad handles it nicely, BTW.

They're still limited to 32GB, though. That is going to keep a few people from upgrading right away.
