Been using my ret pally as a tank surprisingly well in group instances lately (u get a lot more invites if you're willing to tank).
Got some funny comments but I rarely wipe out. All you need to tank IMHO is a good shield.
Anyone else still playing wow?

I'm getting really sick of the gearscore snobbery on WOW. If you're a casual player it takes a while to get decent gear.
But some of the 5K+ gearscore snobs make out like it's the end of the world if us noobs impose on their battlegrounds or groups.
Well duh! How are we meant to get better gear? eBay?

All my characters have gearscores < 3500, so I don't even try to do instances.

Been fooling around with
Star Trek Online in the open Beta. Haven't really gone beyond the tutorial, since they decided to drop their first big patch in the middle of my play time yesterday. So far, not bad. I imagine the crush when it goes live will make it unplayable for a month or so, but I like it.

In the 80s and 90s I played shitloads of games. This lasted until I ran through Marathon. Then things slowed down. I loved Warcraft. But now what? I want something awesome that also won't destroy my time with family. Yes, MMORPG preferred but not necessary. Tried EVE online . Beautiful but isolated.

I have given up long, arduous game.
