We are driven by many things, what's your view on the meaning of life?

Apparently, though, it was a general ability before the Fall.

I'd forgotten that bit. "As above, so below."

Dante?
How about some Dante in popular culture??

I put that together back in '06 -- runs off Movabletype, haven't had one hiccup.

Discussion taken from the local thread...

Scientific fundamentalism, heh.

Marketing: take your worst feature, turn it totally around and start advertising it as the new truth.

In Texas they know what to do with scientific fundamentalism, they would like to start a creationist university.

It's typical of extremists to just go ahead and setup their alternate reality.

So sure they can issue science degrees but if they get accreditation is another matter right?

What a journey.
For some odd reason I am having a down(er) day.
One of these days where at times one wonders if everyone (else) would be better off w/o me.
One can almost logically point out how certain things would be smoother, better under various circumstances.
Nothing personal (against myself).
Tomorrow will be better.

I whinge therefore I am!
Be kind to yourself, Bill. Everyone has their black dog days.

And without you on spork, JW would have to double his comedic output to keep us amused...

Bill, the worst and most evil thing about depression is that it makes you convinced that well, that's it, this is how life will be from now on. But depression is a big fat liar. Just focus on doing the small things you need to do to get through day to day, and remind yourself of the small things that make you happy. Like posting/reading Spork! It will pass, promise.

Don't go, El Jeffe! I need a certain amount of Tony Clifton in my day.

What a journey.
Hey, thanks. I'm not going anywhere. promise. At the end of the (yester)day I was just left with the feeling that I did not positively add to my surroundings.
And possibly little things like my kids 'all growed up' and not needing me or acknowledging me as much anymore. (perceived - not REAL of course).
Could be the Meth talking. ;^)

C'mon Bill! We've got the rest of the East End to see!! Plus Stonehenge, Ben Nevis, Arthur's Seat...

Don't go to see Arthur's Seat. That's just some guy named Art down at the pub, mooning tourists.

I'm headed to counseling this week. I've never been to a counselor.

I'm going through a divorce...

Ugh. Sorry, Madaracs. Counselors can help, I'm told. I probably should have seen one during my divorce, way back when.

Madaracs… I went to a therapist when I was planning a divorce. To my surprise her intervention avoided it. I have since recommended that a friend go to a therapist after his wife left him. It hasn't saved his marriage but he agrees its for the better.

Ugh, mad, sorry to hear. But I'll chime in that you're doing the best thing you can do.

Geez – how many divorces have there been the last few years? Madaracs... Jeff, it looks like... John (or was that a pre-Spork divorce?)... Are there any others I missed? Talk about depressing...

Mine was pre-Spork. Ancient history, but history that refuses to lie quiet.

Sorry to hear Madaracs. I hope you get through it all intact and well.

Ron, we should have pulled an all-nighter. :)
