So, how low do you all think Facebook will go?

I think $10 is a fair valuation (that's still an earnings multiplier of 25).

Well then, let's say $5. Don't forget… lockup expiry is coming…

This isn't good to hear. Life as a retail employee must suck.

Jobs resigns as CEO of Apple, remains as chairman.

Tim Cook is now CEO.

I heard that story. Don't know what to make of it.

Yeah I really can't see Mr. "what did you used to do here?" promising that to anyone, much less being expected to hold that promise from beyond the grave...

Samsung got bitchslapped today. That ought to do something for the stock.

I watched the "one more thing" pbs jobs special just now. And now I hear this.
Apple, in my humble opinion, DESERVES this after MS stole the look and feel.
Smile, Steve. You won. One year to the DAY that Jobs resigned.

Lawyers would have settled. Steve pushed this to the power of the people.

The number of people who just assume, loudly, that Apple paid off the judge and jury is amazing. I think that, if anything, the "halo effect" kicked in. People associate innovation with Apple, and I think that must impact decision-making. Regardless, I don't think that there is any legitimate question that Samsung blatantly copied a generation of products. I don't know how much of that would apply to Android in general, or current Samsung devices.

You can make the case that some of the stuff that Apple patented shouldn't be patentable (and I would agree, strongly), but in a world where such patents are allowed Apple sure as hell should defend them. I expect the appeals to go on for years, and I doubt Apple will collect anything like $1 billion. They might block sale of some older Samsung products, though. And I'll bet the ambivalent South Korean court decision on some similar issues gets some pro-Samsung enforcement. National pride may demand it.

Somebody on Twitter pointed out that the verdict came down one year to the day, from Steve's resignation from Apple. Seems like a spooky coincidence.

J-Will : Last sentence in my post. That was the first thing I thought of; since having pointed out last week that it was 51 weeks since he resigned.

The money's obviously not the point for Apple. They got their deterrent. Even before the case, Samsung went out of its way to differentiate its products on those particular points. As a Lumia user, I'm not sympathetic to Samsung.

And agreed with Bill - nice bit of karma.
