I have been searching for YEARS for one particular item for my collection. I've had an eBay search bookmarked and check it at least once a day. I posted about it on Google+ a couple months ago. Today, before I even got a chance to check my bookmark, a random stranger commented on my Google+ post and provided a link to an eBay auction that just went up for this extremely rare device.

It's a 10-day auction, we'll see if I win it in the end.

I've got a TAM with a G3 accelerator. I haven't even booted it in at least five years, so whatever that battery on the motherboard is, it's probably dead. If anybody wants to pick one up from Reno, I'd be glad to donate it to a good home, as is. I don't want some Craig's List yokel to have it, but a Sporker would care for it.

I should do the same thing with my Newton MP2100, but Robert Taylor has dibs on it, since I reneged on giving it to him years ago.

But I'm keeping my Data Rovers, dammit. General Magic will never die!

Well got my 660AV and a TAM this weekend, so well on my way to my own Mac Collection. I never had a TAM before but always wanted one.

Oooh, a TAM. I had one for four or five years--bought it when Apple knocked the price down to $2000 to clear the inventory. Even at that reduced price, it was underpowered and had a cheap-feeling, uncomfortable keyboard, but boy did it look cool. I used it as my principal work computer for a couple of years while I waited for the four-year IU refresh cycle to come around and replace the 7200/120 that they gave me when I moved here in the fall of 1996.
