With a single machine? Probably not; the pipe to the "outside" will still be the limiter. BETWEEN machines/devices, it will most definitely make any data intensive ops better (file copies, 'in-house' streaming, etc).<br />
<br />
WRT to the other rack-mounting comment and the SGI-like focus of the new Mac Pros, (1) the cheese graters weren't easily rack mountable either; given how small these will be, I can see much potential for 3rd-party solutions just like the rest (surely no one expected a new Xserve? also - these are going back to desktop, not deskside form factors), and (2) in the new pro world, storage is all outboard these days anyway (SAN, RAID, etc). With TB2, I can see we really have reached the days of if you're pro, you're pro, and you will likely have external kit with a big honkin' "pipe" connected to it. 3x 4k monitors is literally (for pixel counts) and figuratively (for mindshare) huge IMO.]]></description>
