Yeah, I've been eagerly awaiting that one. Loved the trailer, though it wasn't in-game footage. They re-released the original Cyberpunk 2020 recently. I still have my original. Never played it but, boy, I wanted to. Should be getting my Traveller 5th Edition and pdf's of the original Traveller in the next few weeks. I may die of nostalgia.

I ran it on the first PowerPC Mac series (7100, I think). It ran well, with a PowerPC patch Bungie released. They also had a special texture pack for floors and ceilings that only the PPC machines had the horsepower to run. Eerie game; I loved it.

Disney shut down LucasArts. Now I'll never get a decent version of Dark Forces that runs on my Mac. (Yes, you can run the DOS version in emulators, but the Classic OS Mac version's graphics were 10x better.)

I wonder what it would take to get a version of OS X with Classic running in Parallels...

anyone interested in it as a game developer? Sounds interesting that you can use the ODK (?) and put your own creation out on the store in a couple of hours after coding it.

Interesting. I think when the next generation consoles come out, I think I will mostly anticipate the Katamari release. But truth be told, I am so far behind video games. It does make things cheap as everything two years old goes to about $20 per title.

Seems to fit in well with the over-the-top nature of a character whose main shtick is exploding himself.

Based on his demonstrated enthusiasm in the past for Viewtiful Joe, I think Mokers would enjoy the iOS release of Ms. Splosion Man. Though I haven't gotten a handle on the gender politics of it, it's a really well-made and fun platformer, with simple controls that work well on the touch screen. And make sure to listen to the song that plays when you pause the game.

Doesn't sound like the sort of game I'd like, but that review sounds elitist. People obviously like and play it, despite the reviewer's disdain for every aspect of the game.

Much better emulators on windows. Might be worth throwing boot camp on that mac if he really wants PS one games. A lot of PS One games are available to buy on playstation network as well.

Heh. I have a copy of Virtual Game Station lying around...

AFA emus, it looks like the older ones haven't been maintained very well. A quick search for "playstation emulator mac" will give you the general skinny on it.
